This entry is part of a map titled: "Seattle to Thailand and Back".
We're at Ko Muk on the way down to Langkawi (Malaysia). For the last = 36 hours I had some kind of food poisoning with the added joy of all = my muscles aching like I'd been hit by a train. The food poisoning = symptoms have gone now and my muscles still ached this morning but 3 = advil sorted that out. Kerry's got a bit of the same today but in a = milder form it seems. These vegetarians have much tougher immune = systems than us meat eaters I think. Ko Muk (Muk Island) has a cave called The Crystal Cave. We went around = there earlier today but it was so full of tourists swimming into the = cave in little neat rows of orange life jackets that we decided to = come back later today when all the tourist boats have left. Yesterday we spent the night at a tiny island north of here called Ko = Waen. We anchored next to a cliff where some sea gypsies were living. = They live in a platform that hangs from the side of the cliff and they = had a solar panel strapped to the side of the cliff face for = electricity. This morning a boat arrived to deliver water to them. We = think they are collecting birds nests from the cliff face which is a = local delicacy around here. Tomorrow we leave for Ko Phetra, a long thin island that runs north to = south about 6 hours sail from here. Comments No comments yet - be the first! | |||||||||||||||||
